Dance Festival

Today was the Dance Festival at school. I took my camera because I knew it would be picture worthy. Jake did the Virginia Reel with the rest of the 4th graders. Cam and the 2nd graders danced to a song from High SchoolMusical. They did a great job and even waved to us in the crowd!

Here's the picture. Jake's in the green, Cam in blue. Oh yeah, someone stole the batteries out of my camera last night for their new iDog. We may be putting a lot more of these kind of pics on our blog from now on!

My mom can Moonwalk!

Grandma and Grandpa Louisiana came to visit for the long weekend. We tried to cram as much as possible into 4 days.
  • We met at The Gateway for dinner and played in the fountains on Friday.Of course, we let all of the kids sit and gma & gpa's end of the table and the rest of us had a nice adult dinner at our end of the table.
  • Saturday, we went to Thanksgiving Point and had a picnic. Did you know that you can't go in through the kids gardens and get to the big gardens anymore?
  • Sunday we had a weenie/marshmallow/starburst roast in our backyard. (The one perk to not having the yard finished yet!)The best part was when we let Grandma try the Wii and she moonwalked during her celebration dance after getting a great score on the ski jump! Who knew?
  • Monday we all went to see the "Night at the Museum' and had a bbq/bday party for Jared at Lib's house.
We had a great time and I think we wore everyone out! Now it's time for damage control.

Do you ever think...

Do you ever think, "This is it! This is really my year for that coveted Mother of the Year Award!"?
Yeah, me either.

Sam was having such a great time trying out his new car seat - next thing I know he's wearing the full-body, thick plastic bag it came in! Plastic bags are great toys for babies!
But, he's happy, so I guess it's all OK in the end...

Got Multiples? Count Placentas!

Brief Rundown:
*Yesterday was the March of Dimes March for Babies in Provo.
*We were on Team BrossetteLewis (aka TeamFreaks)and our shirts said "Got Multiples? Count Placentas".
*We got to walk, get our faces painted, and eat as much free fruit, bread, and doughnuts as we could! (Don't cha love sponsers with free food?!?)
*Jared and his brother, Craig, were part of the entertainment as jugglers
*I'm getting more confident with how much I know about TTTS - I actually made conversation with another mom that mistaked me for a 'multiple mom' (yeah, no, that would be my skinny sister over that gave birth to two babies at once...overachiever!)

Joshie's cool cheetah face; he had to go back and look at the mirror 3 times after it was finished!

Our Work

You are doing God’s work. You are doing it wonderfully well. He is blessing you and He will bless you, even—no, especially—when your days and your nights may be the most challenging.
(Elder Holland, 1997, "Because She is A Mother")

I am so grateful today for the mothers I have the opportunity to know. The neighbor mothers that watch out for my kids, the wives of my home teachers who love my boys, our incredible Primary President that is truly happy to see my kids every time, my amazing sister who can do anything with little people everywhere, my visiting teacher mothers that make me laugh, my friend mothers that I can talk to and bounce ideas off of, the mothers I got to know when I married into Jared's family, and, of course, my own mother for the things that she taught me so I can be a mother myself

Salad Bar Night

Luckily, we don't have veggie haters at our house, but I found a way to make the veggies more fun! I found this dish for $4 and we filled it with all the salad bar veggies we had in the fridge. (We had a bowl of grilled chicken, too. With 5 men in the house, I don't do very many meatless meals for fear of being strung up!) The kids loved building their own salads!
The compartments have a magical power and the "build your own" got a great response. So, now, I'm thinking Potato Bar, Hawaiian Haystacks...what else? Jared already offered ice cream bar as a dinner idea, so don't repeat that one!
